David Meffert has been working in the creative arena for over thirty-five years with experience as an Art Director / Creative Director in Advertising, Sports Marketing, Entertainment and Amusement Parks.
He graduated from the University of Kansas with a BFA, in Graphic Design and Photography; David was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity at KU. He started his career at Six Flags Amusement Parks. There he was responsible for creating the corporate identity program for the amusement park company and also helped in the development of new parks and rides throughout the park system. David spearheaded the team that reintroduced the wooden rollercoaster at Six Flags over Georgia in 1974, which became the hallmark ride for every Six Flags Park from then on.
From 1977 through 1991 David worked as an Art Director/Creative Director at major Los Angeles Advertising Agencies, with clients such as Toyota, Nissan, Jet America, Dos Equis Beer, The Irvine Company, Kaufman & Broad, Thermador and
Meguirs Car Wax.
In 1991 David opened the Meffert Group working on event marketing and promotion projects for Nissan, Toyota and Hyundai. He has also created numerous logos and packaging designs in various clients worldwide.
David joined EMG as a partner in 2001 and was responsible for all Advertising, Promotions and Merchandising for the Mexico City and the Monterrey Grand Prix part of the prestigious ChampCar Series that ran throughout the world.
In 2006 he became a partner in Port Town Productions, David is in charge of Marketing and Promotions for the new entertainment company that is setting new standards in the industry.
David raised two boys in Palos Verdes, California before marrying Pia Grønning a Danish actress, model & interior designer and moved to the Hollywood Hills. When he’s not behind his computer creating logos, David can be found at the beach with his sons who are avid surfers.
